Welcome to The Guild of Guardians
"The City of Bristol has so much to offer, both to the business organisation and to the private citizen"
Alfred Telling CBE, founder of The Guild of Guardians
What We Do
In its simplest form, the Guild of Guardians hosts a range of activities and events each year that bring our members together to network, discover more about Bristol, and contribute to our charitable aims. From behind-the-scenes tours to festive events and dinners where we celebrate our charitable awards and the young people who win them, our diary of activities includes formal and informal opportunities to get together.
What makes Guild of Guardian events unique are the people you’ll meet and the outcomes from those meetings. Members and their friends are brought together with the aim of celebrating and championing the city of Bristol.
In recent years, guest speakers have ranged from the Secretary of State for Trade to our elected Mayor, and from officers of HMS Prince of Wales to many of the leading charitable organisations in the city, as well as frequent contributions from those holding the office of the Lord Mayor.
We work closely with Bristol City Council’s International Office, supporting regularly with twinning visits and events. We play host to VIPs, arrange flag-raising events, represent the city on twinning visits and take every opportunity to showcase the city’s trades and traditions.
